Marissa Navaira Montalan

Profession and Background: She is an ideal teacher. She is currently working at Gulod National High School, DepEd Cabuyao City and is an advocate of education. Marissa was born in Makati City and now a resident in Cabuyao City, Laguna since 2006. She studied at Bethany Baptist Academy in Makati from Preschool to 2nd Year High School and due to change of residency and continued her 3rd and 4th year at Muntinlupa National High School. Way back then, her career vision was to work in a Cruise Ship or be a Tour Guide that made her decide to pursue a 2-year associate course in Hotel Restaurant Management at University of Perpetual Help System, Biñan, Laguna. As she matured and struggled through many challenges in life as well as encountering different employment designations, her career vision had changed to a deeper and greater motivation to Graduate with Bachelor of Secondary Education as an Academic Achiever at Colegio de Sto. Niño de Cabuyao. By God's grace, she passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers and eventually worked in private schools in Cabuyao City. She was a Science and Filipino teacher at Angels in Heaven School and a year after, she became an English and supervisor-teacher at Arise and Shine Academy. As time went by, she ventured to a non-academe field of work as a Sprint Customer Representative at Convergys Nuvali Sta. Rosa City. During this new employment with a hectic work and fatiguing schedule, her body longed for a restful sleep at night so she decided to work instead for a morning shift as Proofreader/Copy Editor at Amdatex Services Corporation in Las Piñas City. After sometime, it brought her to a realization in being back to her 1st passion with education. As she waited for her employment process with DepEd, Marissa studied Master of Arts in Education at Pamantasan ng Cabuyao. She was also a volunteer teacher to Kinder students at Sala Elementary School and worked also as a part-time teacher at Ayla Foundation in Cabuyao City.
Specialty: Aside from her passion in education, she also loves to portray her love for fashion that made her join and win in various vogue competitions.
